What's a xybird?

We're Daisy and Andrew, a duo based in East London. We officially came together in 2020, merging our individual musical influences, styles, and ambitions to create what we call xybird. (before you ask, the xy doesn't relate to chromosomes)

Our approach is to distill a specific feeling, a story, a genre, an era, a mood, or even a character into a catchy, accessible 3-minute pop-song.

We use songwriting as a lens to explore and make sense what's happening in our lives. Whether we are delving into heavy situations or indulging pouty moods, the creation process is always rooted in curiosity and joy. Our music is our playground. We don't aim to reinvent the wheel, but absorb the terrain that it rolls on.

We have built a strong and varied catalogue of songs and are looking forward to more frequent live performances.
